Ever Notice How The People Who Call Me Crazy Usually Have More Issues Than I Do?
At least I can take consolation in the fact that I'm the silly kind of crazy, not the batshit kind of crazy. -:)

There is a certain amount of insanity that is a prerequisite of existence. Any additional good crazy you can add is a bonus.

Xydexx is full of Good Crazy, which is part of this nutritious breakfast...

I'm still trying to figure out the person who registered on a Mac site to actually KNOWS me IRL just to flame me about me being a Microsof Windows fanboi. S\He hasn't posted anything else other then to just flame me. So does that fall into the sill or batshit kinda crazy?

There are plenty more round-the-bend Mac fanboys than anything the furry fandom has produced.

Yeah, no kidding. They make us normal, non-insane Mac users look bad.

Why can't people just use what they like and not flame everyone who uses something else?

Because then organized religion would have no power over people.

What I find most disturbing, however, is that many-to-most religions seem to be moving in the direction of exclusiveness rather than inclusiveness, whether your religion be a political sect, a fanatical devotion to one particular operating system, or one of the more traditional ones that have deities.

exclusive vs. inclusive religion

if you take a comparative religious history class, a good one, you'll notice that this goes in cycles. religion becomes exclusionary (fundamentalist), then loses popularity and more inclusive religions or sects emerge, then thowe new sects lose popularity & fundamentalists emerge again. it's generally several hundred year cycle, so it's not readily apparent to individuals, but it is to historians.

This is true. We're about four to six hundred years out from the last cycle, if we consider the Crusades and the Inquisition to be the last segment of the cycle. Still, living in one of the fundamentalist swings is a bit trying.

It could be worse! You could be an Amiga User!

I've seen the crazed Amiga fans *COUGHEWSCOUGH* and am wowed by their devotion to the platform after it's been dead for so long.

There's a pile of devout Apple II users out there too, writing web browsers and network stacks for their extinct platform. Retrocomputing can be fun but some people take it so far!

At least I'm willing to admit the Apple II is dead.

Apple II Forever! Or so we thought.

I think the smaller the userbase, the crazier the user. Windows people are ambivalent in most cases, Mac Users tend to be like the annoying door to door mormons at very worst, Linux users are as elistist as they are nerdy, and Amiga users are... something else.

It's weird seeing these guys with computers that were totally bitchin' (in 1996) go on about how their platform is going to rise from the grave any day now and just impress the hell out of everyone enough to make them all switch over at the drop of a hat.

You know there's gotta be like, three guys out there who all use the CAT who are making a giant space laser to explode redmond washington.

I think there's some awesome that can be done with retro computing -- I love seeing people using antiquated technology to do really neat stuff. I mean, I really like hearing music done on analogue synths (moogs and therimins FTW), for example. I like seeing games purposely done with pixel art.

Really, how sad is it to become obsessively miserable by what someone else likes?

I'm so happy to see the silly crazy cute weird bouncy Xydexx back. The fact that you are all of the above is why I started reading your LJ & why I still like doing so. You are, in some ways, adorably and crazily the most sane person I know.
